Elizabeth writes home ~ from California.

The Note with Ryan Gosling

So, my three friends and I decided to go to a landmark Hollywood diner that has been in use since the '20's called the 101 cafe. We heard from a friend that you can get brownie waffles with ice cream for breakfast, so we thought that sounded like a nice Saturday morning meal. We didn't realize that this place is totally hipster and looks like an American apparel ad when you walk in. Everyone was hot in that "I didn't try very hard, but I just looked like this when I woke up" kind of way. Well, it was packed and very loud, and my friends and I sat in a booth, and a few minutes later, this guy started walking by our booth toward the booth next to ours. He was familiar-looking, but I couldn't remember what from. Then I realized it was Ryan Gosling, so I tried not to be rude and stare, so I looked away. Well, I looked over at my friend once he passed, and quietly said, "he's famous" . She didn't know what I was talking about and I said, never mind, but she wouldn't let it go.
So, she had me write it down and give it to her in a note. So, I wrote, "that's Ryan Gosling from the Notebook". She casually looked over and saw him and then leaned over to tell our other friend. The other friend saw him too, and then quietly told her boyfriend, who was sitting next to her. Unfortunately, he couldn't quite hear her, and said, "what ?! Who?!
Who's RYAN GOSLING?!" pretty loudly. Then, his girlfriend said, "shh, he's over there. It's the guy from the notebook." But, apparently, he still didn't understand who it was because he's a guy, and guys don't know who Ryan Gosling or the Notebook is. So, he said, "The notebook ?.....Was that movie even any good?" And, because I thought he was several booths over, I said "Eh...It was alright." Not realizing the waitress had placed them directly behind me in the next booth. Then there was a little more confusion as to who Ryan Gosling was from the boyfriend, and then everyone said "shut up..he's RIGHT THERE !"
But, we didn't shut up. Partially through the meal, the boyfriend said, "hey that guy over there has a really awesome tattoo of the giving tree." His girlfriend said, "YEAH, that's him..Shut up!" But, he said something to the effect of, "should you really have tattoo's if you are an actor, because don't they have to cover those up with makeup, and isn't that kind of a ___ thing to do?" At which point my friend next to me leaned over and said, "we can never come back here"

Elizabeth he seems like a nice person , very tolerant and patient.
Personally , as a recluse his life seems like a bizarre nightmare to me. Let me know if you see Buster Keaton. I love that guy.

I was just wondering how you and your saintly wife were doing. Weird....
Here's why ... my next post is about a physician who is tormented by administrators of the Obama health care plan..........

Oh,my stars!! You don't know about Mr.Ryan? Chicks love him. He was in a movie called "The Notebook" and it's about true love, feelings, and heartbreak , ya know emotional girly stuff. The men who have seen this movie had done so because some woman had made them. Please pass me a Kleenex. hahahahaha

BTW I didn't read your last post because it was in Spanish I think. I struggle with English and it's my only language. hahahaha Oh, wait that's not funny.

That is alright. My post was about wolves in lambs clothes and complaining about how the Archbishop Cardinal of Boston had scandalized the people by his prominent role at Sen. Ted Kennedy's funeral - being such a public advocate of abortion rights and all.

Or maybe I am the only one scandalized by that. Who knows, the Church is so fuzzy these days in its leadership.

The church does seem to see things in a fuzzy kind of way. I had thought about leaving it a couple of times in my past but how could I after I know that Christ sits upon the altar? Waiting......

I keep thinking about this scripture..
John chapter 6 verse
68 Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away? 69 And Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 70 And we have believed and have known, that thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

So then we're just stuck. We can't leave because we know the truth but it is a terribly imperfect situation. Although I don't mind imperfection. People make mistakes and people repent.
I just can't stand traitors and betrayers.
