The problem I had with my own children is that after some pretty sweet vacations there was an unspoken expectation to top the last one. The bar was set too high.
My husband and I finally gave up trying and took our kids to the mountains and made them climb. They complained to high heaven. I loved it but our little boy said, "I hope a bear eats me." - - - Good times, good times.
