Personally - I side with the second picture. Either that or duck tape...

I have to be nice Adrienne, my children will be wiping my butt in about 30 years, and daubing off the drool on my chin, before it pools onto my chest.
I am trying to avoid giving them reasons to pull my plug.......beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, then one of my offspring will kick the cord out of the socket, and say...oops, sorry Mom.
