I dreamt about a little girl who sees demons in the forms of witches in her home and they taunt and terrify her. Her parents not only don't believe her but scoff and scold her without mercy. Once when their family was outside and standing on the front lawn, the little girl looked up toward the house and pointing to an upstairs window said to her parents, "There they are, can't you see them?!" Of course the room which she had pointed to was her own and the poor little soul gets little relief.
*Pray hard then walk away. We're not qualified, nor are we asked to do any more than that. I warn you, don't play in this yard.

*Please God help your little children who are part of our communion of saints and who engage in a very real grown -up spiritual battle as their parents have checked out and are on some sort of childish spiritual vacation retreat - deep in denial..*Pray hard then walk away. We're not qualified, nor are we asked to do any more than that. I warn you, don't play in this yard.

We aren't going anywhere.
Our hope is in the Lord.
"...before setting to work for God and to fight against the devil, first calculate your forces; and if you consider yourself well enough equipped to begin, you are a fool, because the tower to be built costs an outrageous price, and the enemy coming out to meet you is an angel, before whom you are of no account. Get to know yourself so well that you cannot contemplate yourself without flinching. Then there will be room for hope. In the sure knowledge that you are obliged to do the impossible in Him who strengthens you, then you are ready for a task which can be performed only through the Cross."
If your Guardian Angel is causing you to dream of a soul in need, recite the short version of the Saint Michael prayer, and the three Hail Marys.
I sometimes awakened at three a.m. and could not get back to sleep. I prayed and immediately feel asleep.
I think my Guardian Angel is generous giving someone in need a few prayers.
A Mother Superior that helped Priests in Exorcisms once told me were I to see a ghost, I am obliged to pray for that soul, even if I saw it fifty years ago; no time passes for ghost, just for us.
Here is a Catholic ritual that may be used to protect properties from malignant spirits:
place a Saint Benedict medal in the four corners of your home or property. (you may bury them outside if you prefer to do so).
hang a Saint Benedict Crucifix in your home, and ask for his protection.
bless your home in the Holy Name with Holy Water.
go to Confession and Mass.
We should fear God’s justice, and pray for His mercy.
The Devil is God’s monkey.

We don't have a clue to what exactly is going on in the "preternatural" level; much less the "supernatural".
Prayer, the sacramentals, the daily prayers for the deceased (Psalm 129 or 130, depending upon your Psalter!), and being very dependant upon the Good Lord, His Holy Mother, St. Michael and all the angles and saints...what Pablo said...
the contact between the visible and invisible world is very mysterious; we should not be afraid...but we should be aware;
love casts out all fear.
What a scary dream..
Scary dreams will rattle me for awhile too..hope you are doing ok.
Then there are the dreams you have to go to Confession for.. :)

When I was twelve or so, my five-year-old little sister ran up to me, almost crying, saying that a witch had levitated up to her second-story bedroom window and tried to entice her to climb out of it. As I was still a really rotten person at the time (and arguably still am), I laughed at her the whole day.
Other things that have happened since make me regret that reaction from the bottom of my heart. Whatever it was she saw or thought she saw, I should have cared more about the dark forces that are always after a child's soul.
Pablo, I was referring to the people who let their children dabble in the occult. I had done these things as a teen until one fine evening when I actually saw a demon walk around my bed and threaten me. I instantly became Catholic - hahaha go figure.

People need to stand up and pray but we don't exorcise anything or anyone. I've seen protestants do this and it's very dangerous. I know my place!

In the home where I'm at now, I had put St.Benedict medals above each window and door frame - under construction. I had seen a demon once looking at me from the outside of the window so I knew then that the medals do indeed work- Well specifically the blessing upon the medals.
Ghosts usually don't frighten me as long as they leave me alone.I rarely see them. Demons unravel me and make me highly anxious and upset particularly when they are taunting or jeering and it only happens maybe once a year or less.
But what terrifies me the most is the possessed - people who give life and capabilities to demons which make them all the more dangerous.

I was stuck by the demons hatred for us. There isn't any compassion or kindness and there is no comparison to pure evil. It's unflinching in it's approach. They hate us with a depth of hate that we can not understand.

Sara, when I was young these things would bother me greatly but not so much anymore. I pray really hard and I love the people I pray for then let it go and God takes it from there. My job is to pray.

Miss E, a twelve year old is just a kid. It's okay to let this stuff go. You made fun of your sister because you were scared and wanted her to stop. I get it. I'm sure she loves you and understands now. What ever had happened to her must have made her stronger... No?

Belinda, the sad part is that she isn't okay now. =( I'm not sure whether I can trace a direct line of causation from this event, but she certainly became self-destructive later in her youth. My family actually had to kick her out of the house two years ago because she was stealing--and I don't mean petty cash; I mean my grandmother's heirloom jewelry. When it comes to her, I am haunted about what could have been.
Well, your sister may be digging herself a bigger hole but it's not over 'till it's over. Don't give up on her. I know that's easier said than done. I know....
Send a patron saint to her. I usually send Padre Pio. He helps us a lot.
BTW..Twelve year olds are not in charge of their siblings spiritual direction - parents are. Your not going to be held responsible but now as an adult you can pray and do penance on her behalf.

Thank you, Belinda. Your advice means a lot. I will pray to St. Pio for her.
"I will pray to St. Pio for her."
Me too.
"Twelve year olds are not in charge of their siblings spiritual direction - parents are"
Great! Now I have guilt.
...oh, wait. I'm Catholic. ;)
Seriously, I feel the weight of this heavily (I have 8 souls under my care). I'm sure you already know this, but I would also recommend wearing the brown scapular of Our Lady. Very powerful.
Thank you for this post Belinda. I'm so glad I found your blog (thanks Vincenzo)! I'm adding you to my google reader.
God bless.
