I've questioned our former pastor repeatedly about why the Holy Father doesn't step in and speak up about the abuses since VatII. Answer? That's not the way the Church works.
Well - the Church had better change the "way it works" pretty dang soon or there won't be any real Catholics left.
Don't even get me started on the USCCB defending ObamaCare.
I went to a pro life mass this morning and we sung hip protestant songs which I listen to when I drive my car BUT not at my MASS. I saw about 500 kids listening to our rockin' mass and thought, "We've lost our Catholic identity."
As a convert I didn't get what I had expected from this church and it's people and my disappointment is profound. I will never leave it though, I love it too much to leave and even if the whole system should crumble around my feet - I'm no Luther.
Soon the blood of the martyrs will change our lack of fervor, loyalty and our misplaced affections and these things will happen rather quickly but then who goes first? ;)
