Everybody's celebrating Mardi Gras today.

Funny how some Catholics pick , and choose the "Catholic" stuff that they want to participate in.

Is it my imagination or did Speaker Pelosi pose for that Mardi Gras mask?

Oh, you mean like St. Patrick's Day parties and dances during LENT?

My parents were so funny , and not in a ha, ha kinda way. They always gave up something for Lent ,and they weren't even Catholic. They enjoyed the St Pat's day parade, and my father would give me a carnation on St. Pats day.

I never understood why my father freaked out when I became Catholic. His friends were Catholic, and he always thought highly of them.
I will avoid the details, but my parents are both Catholic now, and I am so proud of them, and to think that they use to sit ,and laugh ,and make fun of me because I was the weird religious kid family..... I win.

Typing error, "I was the weird religious kid in the family."

I didn't know that dancing was a Lenten "no, no". Someone better tell Mr.Nelson over at the Abby !!

Who cares about Irish food. You never see an Irish restaurant on every block like the Mexican restaurants, and there IS a reason for that. Why do you think that so many Irish left Ireland? Yep it was because of the potatoes , they were sick of boiled potatoes. ;)
