I dreamt about health care and a couple of blogger buddies last night.
I'm more concerned  for the poor now than I ever was.
I wonder if  "do it yourself" medical stuff will start showing up on the net, you know like recipes!

Surprise! It was a Charismatic kinda day.

(This is what happens when you take a photo during Mass when you should be paying attention)

Yesterday was the anniversary (sadly) of Roe verses Wade and so my activity director decided to take the both of us to the Kansas State capitol in Topeka to protest in front of the Kansas supreme court. We started our morning off with a Mass in the Topeka municipal auditorium. and as I walked into the auditorium I realized that I had dreamt of the place and the dream had been disturbing. So I'm thinking oh, nice it's gonna be a charismatic kinda day!

I always put God in a box and when he's bigger and grander than the box that I had put him in he always freaks me out. ( I rarely share the weirdness because I don't have approval and I'm a nobody and prefer to remain a nobody. Besides if you read this blog your odd too ;) I have to say the Mass was the most interesting Mass that I had ever been to. Our bishops from Kansas were in Washington D.C. protesting abortion but our "priests for life" who had not gone attended the Mass and rally and there were 14 of them. I'm always so very proud of our priests who participate in these sort of pro-life activities. I dearly love our priests.

I was however discouraged by the Mass. I can't even really talk about it. It was very um, well, I don't know what to say. I was a charismatic Catholic for TEN years and yet I never found a Mass such as that one to be so um,........ disheartening and disappointing. ( I gave my blog administrator the death stare when he began to clap with the music) I don't feel comfortable saying bad things about our fine priests. It's not my place, after all I never went to seminary and I suck at Catholicism , I'm mostly just winging it.

I'm okay with you having a prayer youth rally with protestant songs but it was a holy CATHOLIC Mass.

Ana called on my cell phone and said , "Mom, what's wrong?" and I said I can't talk about it. Then she said , "Did you go to a youth Mass?" " I said , um yeah," then she laughed hysterically.
Grace said, "Mom, you don't understand, it's not protestant music, we sing those songs all of the time in music class, they're called praise and worship songs"

At the conclusion of Mass a frail old man with a hearing aid said to his much older friend in tow, "That was a great service, didn't you think?" I was thinking ,
Dear God , what's wrong with me???
I bet you boys are Baptists.

I'm spitting in the wind.

Is arguing with God allowed? I know it's futile but is it allowed?

I dreamt that I was following behind Jackie Kennedy as she walked through the White House mourning and staggering in this beautiful tea length lace dress. I could feel her immense sadness and God asked me to pray for her but I told him no because I didn't like her.

Then I dreamt that I was visiting a few historic sites in Washington D.C. along the Delaware.
I prayed for three men who had been American patriots.
I was very fond of them ...... so naturally I prayed.
(The three men were climbing up a rope in front of a white clapboard building and trying to win some sort of a strategic battle in the dark while holding a lantern.)
***********
Anyway, I prayed for Jackie today.
When I'm awake I always pray for people, whether I like them or not
but I learned that sometimes I can be stingy with my prayers .
I catch myself judging whether or not the person that I'm praying for really needs the prayers.
I never knew that I had a criteria system until today.
Yikes, I hope that God doesn't use that same system with me.
Sometimes I think, "I'm in big trouble."

Dear Diane, Your playing a game of chicken with a train and the results could be disastrous.

Ironically I can remember my father playing this game as he was driving us to your house for dinner. Dad probably assumed that it was his awesome driving skills that saw us through those harrowing driving scenarios, but I can say with certainty it was not .
As a child I loved your family. I was speaking with my father about this the other day and he also said that there was peace at your house and a love and a kindness that your family shared with each other and it could be felt by outsiders and it's one of the reasons why I 'm Catholic today .
Now , with that said, as you may have guessed , I am concerned that your not going to Mass. When Christ instituted the church and the sacraments he didn't say to the crowds , "feel free to worship me in any way that you see fit". In fact the opposite is true. Granted personal prayer and daily reflections are very important and a way to nurture a relationship that should have been made only richer and deeper by the sacraments. The idea of saying , "I'm religious but I don't go to Mass", is ludicrous, sinful and self deceptive , people lie to themselves all of the time, or they allow themselves to be deceived, but consider the cost of such lies.

If you are able, please go to confession and communion , please have anointing of the sick and do it now while you are still able to walk , next week may be too late. When you're at deaths door you may change your mind only your husband my not heed your request. No man is worth going to hell for. If you can not get these things done. I would be glad to drive you to a Priest of your choosing, just call me, but if your too sick I can also sneak a Priest to you. Please don't allow yourself to die outside of the Catholic faith (it's your heritage, and your right) , the faith that I picked up from your family is the same faith that means everything to me , it's this faith that you have stored away on a shelf. When confronted, we always choose our Catholic faith over other people and if those people are not happy with our choice then we show them to the door. I know that this is a tough thing to do , I've had to do it myself , but hell is forever. Please stop playing chicken with a train the stakes are too high. Christ wants you back for himself and more than you could even possibly imagine. Your gambling with "you", and honey, I'm terrified that your going to lose.

*Please pray for my friend Diane, she has cancer and it's fast spreading .

If I get to go to heaven and find that she's not there , I will be heartbroken.

Dear Mr.Williams, I couldn't agree with you more about Obama.

Say, if you ever need a back up dancer I can walk real fast too. I have references , just ask Bobby Sherman. I can borrow my daughter Kate's "bumpit" for my hair and some PANTS , then I'll be all set.

And since your still reading my blog post I wanna talk to you about another one of your videos. You may remember the one I'm posting about, it's similar to those late night commercials on TV where the hot young chick is asking old geezers to call for a free confidential chat for the first 10 minutes.
Now , you know when creepers call those phone numbers that the blazing hot women that they think they are speaking with , and who would never give them the time of day in real life aren't the actual women from television. The real women on the other end of the phone are the kind of women that no one wants to sit next to on public transportation yet men don't mind schmoozing with 'em over the phone. Anyway I think that your confusing lust with love , unfortunately many people do.

Besides your like 110 years old so knock it off and if that girl in the video calls back tell her that I would like to speak with her mother and if you need any "elder aid" products let me know, my kid loves those time savers and we have enough of them to go around.

Dear Blogger Buddies,

I just thought of something that I need to do.
I will be right back.
Well , it may take a little while , but I will be back.
Joseph put his feet on mine while I was sitting at the computer
and he gave me an idea.
I want to show my children a couple of things and it will take a little time.
Please keep us in your prayers. I always pray for you too.
I hope that you will come back and visit my blog.
God bless all of you.

Say, where is this bus headed to again ?

I had this dream where I found myself sitting on a bus . It was very much like the bus pictured above. It was an older bus from the time period of my youth even though it had been an older model than the 1960's .
As I sat on the bus the sun began to set, and the colors of the suns rays that shown inside of the bus were beautiful. The dream was sort of sepia toned in color. I looked at the driver and I wondered why we were parked and what were we waiting for. I was told that we were waiting for the people of the neighborhood that had lived on my street during the 1960's and earlier to die and that the people chatting with me on the bus had already died , even so we were waiting for more souls.
I was very excited and happy to share my faith and the kind of life that I had lived with these people. (although I didn't realize that it was probably too late) I was delighted to tell them about the influence that they had had on me as a small child. Even though they're influence was passive in nature and they couldn't have cared any less.
I was sitting in the back of the bus in front of an angry old woman and I turned around to face her and to listen to her. She began to tell me that she had been (and still was - even in death) angry with the Catholic church over a Priest that hadn't done something that she had wanted him to do. She said , "that's why I quit going to the Catholic church." She was also angry with God over a sick baby of hers that had died and all the while as she kept speaking with me her evil son who lived a life full of sin sat in the seat in front of me and as he leaned over he began to breath down my neck as he whispered something evil about his activities and then directly upon my ear. He took delight in his sins and had no apparent remorse. He was bragging about his deeds and I had seen some of his activities as he was describing them to me.

The old woman complained that God had never helped her and that her son(s) turned out so poorly and she was angry with God about that too. She had blamed God for everything bad that had happened to her and she didn't take any personal responsibility for these problems much of which she created herself.

I said to her , "how can you be angry with God when your the one that told him that you would not serve?" When a parent tells God that they wont serve you are also telling God that your children won't serve either . You made that decision for your sons too. These decisions effect generations and you can't blame God for the results of your wicked son (s). If you reject your faith how then can a life produce good results?

**+**+**+**+**+**+**+**+**+**+**

Then when I woke up I said to myself , "oh, crap", " I was on that purgatory bus too!"
And people who turn their back on Christ and their faith make me profoundly sad.

*Disclaimer. I don't want any wacky followers and I don't have church approval
and I don't think that I'm all that .
Even so God does speak to us sometimes through our dreams now doesn't he?
And lastly there maybe a bus parked somewhere that's waiting for you too.

My friend Glenn, and the paint run with my new discovery - it's called GPS.

While I was working in Kansas City today I ran out of painting supplies and I needed to find the nearest paint store. It turns out that my new cell phone you know the one that I said indignantly that I didn't need, didn't want, and I thought was a frivolous waste of money? You know the same cell phone that my cell phone provider bought for me out of the goodness of his heart and as usual - I complained . Well I was wrong.

Our daughter asked my shiny red phone "where is the nearest paint store" and my phone with the crazy fake woman's voice that we like to affectionately refer to as "Sybil" directed us to the exact address of the paint store. Oh,sure I wanted to slap her a few times and I made fun of her like there was no tomorrow, but how cool was it that she got me here , there and back.
The only problem was that "Sybil" can't factor in neighborhoods that you should seriously avoid. (like the cops do) She also sends you to construction zones, and closed freeways. (she doesn't have your back )I ended up in "Westport" Missouri.

Westport had been the last wagon supply stop west of the Mississippi for many years. It's now known for it's art community and the other community that dresses like "The Village people".

I saw this man Glenn pictured above!! It was kinda like one of those Elvis sightings only way less exciting and a little more scarey. All the while I kept thinking, "There's no place like home" , There's no place like home" and in a repetitive OCD fashion.
I smiled at him but he didn't appear to be in a good mood. ( he must have been reading one of Mr.Nelsons posts) People in the city are friendly right?
Below is the actual video footage of my new Westport friends. The man with the white safety helmet was helpful. He tried to sell me paint.
I am so glad to be home. I am now back in my comfort zone. Thanks be to God.

I am my own worse enemy.

I have not had enough discipline in the amount of time that I have been spending on the computer so I am cutting back, and I'm putting myself on a timer. As a result I have removed myself from all other computer games of interest such as Facebook etc., but I would still like to communicate with my blogger buddies on my blog. I can't do everything on the computer so I had to make some choices. Blogging has helped me a lot personally , and I have chosen to keep it, but if I am unable to discipline myself in words , and in deed then I will have to leave it too. These decisions have been mine alone, and not my blog administrator's. In fact I am ready to walk away from the computer, but he has encouraged me to stay because he has seen how much I have grown ,and benefited from blogging. Not only in my faith , but in my private life as well. It's nothing personal dear reader . It's about discipline - which I have been lacking. I think my blogger friends are wonderful, engaging, and thoroughly entertaining, and I have learned an amazing amount of information from them, and I have grown fond of them.

Halifax Catholic Procession (c1905) - The faith of our fathers.

Jesus himself created the Holy Catholic church, but if your waiting for a church with perfect people you will never find one on this planet. If you want eternal life then look to Jesus. He gives us eternal life through the most Holy Eucharist, and through the sacrament of confession. Life is short - run to Mass, and to confession while you have time, and your heart is still beating. Hurry, go go go. Nothing else is as important - Nothing.

We saw Jesus today , he was the "Sample guy" at Sam's club.

(Pictured, Left to right- Ana, Mary Kay, and myself )

We went to Sam's club after school today which is always a good plan on
Friday's because it's "sample day".
I brought our children hungry , and they were ready to graze.
We hit all of the booths , and had drinks, appetizers, and bits of different meals , but no fruits or veggies unless you count the spinach artichoke pasta , and the Welches grape juice.
Actually I do count that.
Next we ran into one of my favorite people in the world ; Mary Kay Culp.
She's the director of Kansans for life.
I hugged her , and she said that I was her biggest fan.
(It's true, but not in a stalker , creeper kinda way-
well, maybe a little , but she's a wonderful person, and I do love her.)
I introduced Mary Kay to my children her future volunteers,
and they were thrilled that I was volunteering them for work.

Then a sample lady walked by me , and said to her sample guy friend , "nobody loves me" ,
and so I put my arm around her , and said , "well , Jesus does ".
(you didn't think that I would really let that go , now did you?)
Her friend laughed , and said yes he does.
Then he looked at us , and said, "I want to sing a song to you do you mind?"
Of course we didn't mind in fact we we were delighted.
So in the middle of Sam's we sang a J- E- S- U- S song even though Joseph , and the sample lady were too embarrassed to sing along.
The song was about Jesus putting food on our tables.
It was so much fun.
It isn't easy being my kid.
Nor is it easy being my atheist sample lady.
When you go to Sam's be sure to avoid the pretzel chips, and the cocoa almond samples.
Kate begged me to let her try the glucosamine samples for joint relieve.
She's also been begging me for a "Ped-egg".
She loves elder aid products. She's 15,

but just like the pencil shavings that are left on the garage floor for me to clean up, I know that I would have to clean up the Ped - egg shavings so your not getting one.

Forgiveness, and redemption. Nothing feels as good as confession does.

Who cares what other people think.

Don't wait until the last moment it may be too late.

Life doesn't always go as we plan.

We don't die in order , and many people are not fortunate enough to have a last minute confession.

So don't count on one.
